             Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramati is a district level Farm Science Center established on 1st August 1992 under the affiliation of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Agricultural Development Trust Baramati District Pune. KVK Baramati is Model, Hi-tech & National Award winning KVK of India working for farming community since 24 years for the development of sustainable agriculture. 

            The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra is up to the 7 tehsils of Pune district. The aim of Krishi Vigyan Kendra is to reduce the time lag between generation of technology at the research institutions and it's transfer to the farmer's field for increasing production, productivity and income from the agriculture and allied sectors on a sustained basis. In order to achieve this goal, four mandates have been envisaged in the design of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

                                                                    

                                                   Our Infrastructure

   This Kendra & host institute farm is situated at 6 kilometer west of the Baramati city. This center has an area of 20 ha of land required for the technology assessment &demonstration while 24 ha belong to host institute. From this total 44 ha land, the total land under cultivation &demonstration is 30.03 ha, Dairy 1.6 ha, Nursery 1.4 ha, Poly house 0.40 ha, KVK & host institute Buildings has occupied 3.4 ha, Well & water storage tanks 2.4 ha & Roads 4.77 ha of land. The demonstration farm is used for the on farm testing of new technologies. It is also used for the genesis of the good quality seed and seedlings.

                               ​Baramati is a well known Historical place in Maharashtra.

           It is situated on the banks of the river Karha. The town has historical significance because of Kavi   Moropant and Shri. Babuji Naik.
Kavi Moropant was a gifted poet who was known for his style of shloka called 'Arya". He has written many books such as 'Kekavali', 'Harivijay' etc.
             
Baramati was ruled by the Yadavas of Devgiri.After the fall of the Yadav rule, it was immersed in the reign of Bahamas of Gulbarga. Fortunately, we find very authentic and credible historical references of Baramati's History in the books of Dr. Shejwalkar and Mr. Grant Duff- the well known historians.

According to Duff, Nijam Shah of Ahemednagar, being a tributary, gifted Baramati to Malojiraje Bhosale (grandfather of legendary Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj), in 1603. Thus Baramati was ruled by Bhonsale and later on it was included in the reign of Chhatrapati ShivajiMaharaj.
After Aurangzeb's death, it was won by the Marathas. Around 1745, Shahu Maharaj handed over the charge of Baramati to Babuji Naik. He was the great administrator as well as the patron of arts and religion.​
Baramati hosts two old temples which are built around 750. One of them is of Shri Kashivishweshwar - based on the west bank of the river, the other is of Shri Siddheshwar, located on the east bank of the river. Sidheshwar Temple is considered an architectural masterpiece. The temple is located near Babuji Naik's Mansion, which houses a gigantic idol of Nandi. References to both these temples are in the great epic
"Shiv Lilamrut" by another famous poet, Shridhar Swami.

                          बारामती बनले "Educational Hub"

       पुण्यापाठोपाठ बारामती हे एक नवीन शैक्षणिक केंद्र म्हणून उदयास आले आहे. शिशु वर्गापासून पदव्युत्तर शिक्षणाची चांगली सोय बारामती मध्ये झाली आहे. बारामती शहरात तब्बल ४० हजाराहून अधिक लोकसंख्या विद्यार्थ्यांची आहे. 

        उत्तम हवामान, निवास व भोजनाची चांगली सोय, वसतिगृहांची उत्तम सुविधा व चांगले शैक्षणिक वातावरण, संगणक व इंटरनेटची उत्तम उपलब्धता, प्रशिक्षित शिक्षक वर्ग, या बाबींमुळे राज्यासह देशाच्याही अनेक भागातून मुले शिक्षणासाठी आता बारामतीमधे येऊ लागली आहेत. 

   

     

            विद्या प्रतिष्ठान, तुळजाराम चतुरचंद महाविद्यालय, शारदानगर शैक्षणिक संकुल, शिवनगर विद्याप्रसारक मंडळ यासारख्या संस्थांसह इतरही काही शैक्षणिक संस्थांकडून शिक्षणाची नवनवीन दलाने उपलब्ध होत आहेत. माजी केंद्रीय कृषिमंत्री मा. शरद पवारसाहेब, मा. उपमुख्यमंत्री अजितदादा पवार, खासदार सुप्रिया ताई सुळे, राजेंद्र पवार आदींनी बारामतीत शिक्षणाची चळवळ वाढीस लागावी या हेतूने जाणीवपूर्वक प्रयत्न केले आणि याचा सकारात्मक परिणाम झाला आहे.

समर्थ रामदास स्वामींनी महाराष्ट्रीयन तरुणांमध्ये बलोपासनेची आवड निर्माण करण्यासाठी अनेक हनुमान मंदिरे उभारली त्यापैकी कन्हेरीचे मारुती मंदिर आहे असे महटले जाते. हरीभक्त पारायण काळे महाराज यांची ती कर्मभूमी त्यांनी कान्हेरी मारुती मंदिरात अखंड वीणा वादन व "ओम नमो भागवते वासुदेवाय" या मंत्राची सुरवात केली आहे, आजपर्यंत ती परंपरा पुढे चालवली जाते. काळे महाराजांनी कीर्तनकार निर्माण करण्याचे कार्य हाती घेतले होते तेथील विद्यार्थ्यांची परीक्षा घेण्यासाठी सोनापंत दांडेकर येत असत. काळे महाराजांच्या वास्तव्याने कान्हेरीचे मारुती देवस्थान जागृत आहे. बारामतीच्या पवार कुटुंबाचे ते श्रद्धास्थान असून डॉ.आप्पासाहेब पवार यांनी जन्म गावाचे ऋण फेडण्यासाठी हनुमान देवस्थान ट्रस्टच्या माध्यमातून या तीर्थक्षेत्राचा विकास झाला आहे. त्याठिकाणी सर्वधर्म ग्रंथालयाची स्थापना देखील ट्रस्ट माध्यमातून करण्यांत आली आहे. 

पंचक्रोशीतील गोर गरीब मुला मुलींचे विवाह कमी खर्चात व्हावेत या करिता ट्रस्टच्या वतीने एक मंगल कार्यालय सुरु करण्यात आले आहे. काळे महाराजांचा अध्यात्मिक वारसा पुढे चालवण्यासाठी अप्पासाहेबांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली कान्हेरी संदेश नावाचे नियतकालिक ह.भ.प सरलाताई बाबर यांच्या संपादनाखाली सुरु करण्यात आले होते. अध्यात्मिक विचाराबरोबर ग्रामीण भागातील नवोदित कवी साहित्यिक यांना प्रोत्साहन देण्याचे कार्यही सुरु होते.

पुण्यापासून ६४ किलोमीटर, तर बारामतीपासून ३३ किलोमीटर अंतरावर कऱ्हा नदीच्या काठी अष्टविनायकापैकी प्रथम तीर्थक्षेत्र मोरगाव हे वसले आहे. ऐतिहासिक दगडी शिल्पकलेची प्राचीन मंदिरे, हे गावाचे मुख्य वैशिष्ट्य आहे. राज्यभरातून येथे भाविकांची सतत वर्दळ असते. आदिलशाहीकाळातील सुपे परगण्याचे सुभेदार गोळे यांनी शहाजीराजांच्या राजवटीत येथील मयुरेश्वर मंदिराचे बांधकाम केल्याचा उल्लेख ग्रंथात आढळतो. गावाच्या सौंदर्यात भर घालणारे हे मंदिर गावाच्या मध्यवर्ती ठिकाणी आहे. मंदिर उत्तराभिमुख असून बांधकाम आदिलशाही पद्धतीचे आहे. मंदिरापासून जवळच कऱ्हा नदी वाहते. मंदिराजवळ भव्य पाच दीपमाला असून, समोरच उंदीर आणि नंदी यांचे भव्य मूर्ती आहेत. या ठिकाणी नगाराखानाही पाहण्यास मिळतो. येथील गणपतीची मूर्ती मखरात बसविलेली असून, गणेशमूर्तीच्या डोक्यावर नागफणा आहे. डोळ्यात हिरे बसविलेले आहेत. सभामंडपात आठ दिशांना गणपती असून एकदंत, महोदर, लंबोदर, गजानन, विकट, नटराज, धूम्रवर्ण आणि वक्रतुंड याशिवाय २३ परिवार मुर्तीही मंदिरात बसविलेल्या आहेत. वर्षभर येथे भाविकांची सतत वर्दळ असते.

                           मोरगाव क्षेत्राची वैशिष्ट्ये : 
येथील चतुर्द्वार, चार द्वारांवर श्री विष्णूलक्षमी, श्री शिवपार्वती, आदिशक्ती, रतीमदन तथा श्री सुर्यमहीबरासः देवता अशी रचना आहे. मंदिरापासून १० किलोमीटर अंतरावर चार दिशांना असणारे प्राचीन द्वारमंदिरे हे महत्वाचे वैशिष्टे आहेत. या प्रत्येक द्वारावर तीन टप्पे असून त्या ठिकाणी विविध देवता प्रस्थापित आहेत. यात्राकाळात धर्ममंडप, काममंडप, मोक्षमंडप या ठिकाणी अनवाणी चालत द्वारयात्रा करणेची प्रथा अनेक वर्षापासून विनाखंड सुरु आहे. मोरगाव तीर्थ क्षेत्राला २००५ मध्ये पर्यटन स्थळाचा दर्जा मिळाल्याने या ठिकाणी लाखो रुपयांच्या निधीतून मंदिराचा जीर्नोद्वार व विविध विकासकामे झाली आहेत. भाद्रपद व माघ महिन्यात येथे मोठे उत्सव असतात. त्याप्रमाणेच विजयादशमी व सोमवती अमावास्या हे उत्सवही ग्रामस्थांकडून उत्साहात साजरे केले जातात.

बाहेरगावावरून येणारे भाविकांची भोजनाची व्यवस्था येथील काही पुरोहित वर्ग पाहतात. येथील तीर्थक्षेत्राची व्यवस्था चिंचवड देवस्थान ट्रस्टकडून पहिली जाते.
